THE ONGOING COMMUNICATIONS CAMPAIGN AND MEDIA COVERAGE WILL EXPOSE THE EXCITEMENT, PURPOSE AND ENERGY OF THE POLE TO POLE JOURNEY TO A WORLDWIDE AUDIENCE, THROUGH THE MEDIA, THE INTERNET AND OUTREACH PROGRAM.

 

The POLE TO POLE journey 2007 will generate:

  • A ten part documentary television series for worldwide broadcasting showing the inner workings of the Pole to Pole team, their journey and the projects they work on.
  • An interactive website continually updated with Pole to Pole team journals, project news, journey status and streaming video. The website will encourage dialogue between the team, school groups and the general public.
  • School/College/University presentations by Pole to Pole team members to approximately 400,000 students along their route. the presentations focus on empowering students to take action within their communities.
  • Community presentations by Pole to Pole team members to approximately 100,000 persons along their route focusing on how other communities have addressed their needs through community based projects.
  • A book comprised of text and photos will be published chronicling the Pole to Pole Journey.
  • An on-going media campaign tracking the Pole to Pole team and their activities in both international and local media with an estimated 6 billion media impressions worldwide.
  • A collection of tales, stories, music and other folklore from native communities throughout the route.
